Rackside Privacy Policy

Rackside shows the state of your own servers. This page lists what reaches our server, how long we keep it and how to delete it. There is no account: we do not ask for your name or email.

What stays on your iPhone

• SSH keys and passwords. They live in the iOS Keychain and never reach our servers.
• Metrics read over SSH (CPU, memory, disk, network) and checks of addresses on your own network.
• Your list of servers.

What reaches our server

• A random owner ID and device ID, created at first launch.
• Your device's push token, to send alerts.
• Monitors you add to cloud checks: name, address and check settings.
• Results of cloud checks: time, status code, response time and error type. We never keep response bodies or headers.
• Incidents: when a monitor went down, when it recovered and why.
• Your plan, Free or Pro, as reported by RevenueCat.
• A security log of actions such as registration and monitor changes, with the IP address they came from.

How long we keep it

• Individual check results: 30 days. Hourly summaries: 400 days. Charts longer than 30 days are drawn from the hourly summaries.
• Security log: 90 days.
• Server logs, which can contain IP addresses: 14 days.
• Everything else: until you delete it, or until none of your devices has opened the app for 12 months. Then we delete it the same way as if you had deleted it yourself.
• Database backups: 7 days.

Deleting your data

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete data. We delete your owner ID, devices, monitors, check history and incidents right away. Entries in the security log stay for up to 90 days, but without your IDs and IP address: only the action and its time remain. Deleted data can also remain in database backups for up to 7 days.

Who else handles data

• Apple delivers push notifications and confirms that requests come from the genuine app (App Attest and DeviceCheck).
• RevenueCat processes purchases. It sees your random owner ID, not who you are.
• Our server runs on a rented virtual server.

Rackside has no ads, no analytics SDKs and no trackers. We do not sell or share your data.
