RacksideBot

RacksideBot is the uptime checker of Rackside, an iOS app for watching your own servers. When a Rackside user adds a site or port to cloud monitoring, RacksideBot checks it from our servers.

What it does

• HTTP checks: one GET or HEAD request, up to 3 redirects, at most 256 KB of the response read, with a timeout of up to 10 seconds.
• TCP checks: opens a connection and closes it without sending data.
• Each monitor is checked at most once a minute, plus two retries 10 seconds apart after a failure. At most 10 monitors may point to one host across all users.
• It never connects to private or internal networks.
